Central Coast Connect_EDis a new bespoke extra-curricular programme of the University of Newcastle tailored to the Ourimbah Campus and Central Coast to enhance graduate employability and provide mutually beneficial outcomes for industry and our region.Students work in diverse teams on real industry projects over 4 weeks during the winter mid-year break in July. The projects while meeting an industry need will also have an overarching social responsibility focus in addressing a challenge facing the Central Coast.

The programme is open to all Ourimbah Campus students to apply, from 1styear to PhD, domestic or international, any degree program, and to top it off we have the students undertake a personality test to ensure the members have different thinking styles and mind sets within the group. This cognitive diverse approach to the teams will ensure fresh thinking to ideas for your business.

This is project-based programme and, as such, does not occur onsite with the industry partner. The majority of meetings and work will occur on Campus by the students or via technology. The students, however, will have the opportunity to present the project outcomes to the partner organisation and hear their feedback at the industry workplace.

Central Coast industry Connect has engaged with students from the University of Newcastle – Ourimbah Campus through the Central Coast Connect_ED initiative . As part of this program four students will be working on a project, we put forward titled

“Determining the skills gaps in manufacturing, now and for the future”  Results of the study will be presented on the 24th July 2019.
