Mental Health First Aid- Creating a big impact on workplace mental health.

29/02/2024 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Free

Many workplaces have designated First Aid officers within their organisations who are trained first responders to any workplace incidents.

Mental Health First Aid acts in the same way. With 1 in 5 Australian adults experiencing a mental health condition, 20 % of your workforce may be affected.

This is an accredited, certified program which teaches participants:

  • General mental health awareness
  • How to spot the signs of common mental health conditions
  • How to have an effective mental health conversation within the workplace and beyond
  • Where to direct a person to receive appropriate professional help.
  • What to do and say in a crisis situation

In this session you will learn more about the Mental Health First Aid program and how it can benefit your workplace. With the new legislation around managing psychosocial hazards, organisations need a clear and effective plan to manage workplace mental health.

The session will include a case study of successful implementation of Mental Health First Aid with a manufacturing business, including lots of learnings along the way.
